Crackling does not identify one faulty component by itself. A blocked sound outlet, weak battery, moisture, receiver fault, microphone problem or loose connection can produce similar symptoms.
Common causes of crackling
A blocked wax filter or sound outlet
Low battery power or dirty battery contacts
Incomplete charging or dirty charging contacts
Receiver cable or tubing damage
Dust, moisture or damage around microphone openings
Internal moisture and oxidation
Interference related to a programme or connected accessory
Safe checks you can make
Restart the device. Try a fresh correct battery, or fully charge a rechargeable model on clean, dry contacts. Inspect the filter and dome visually. Note whether the noise occurs in one environment, programme or phone connection. Do not open the case or pull receiver wiring.
Receiver or microphone?
Receiver faults may cause weak, distorted or movement-sensitive sound. Microphone faults may make environmental sound uneven, muffled or noisy. These symptoms overlap, so reliable identification requires technical testing.
When to request service
Crackling continues with a fresh battery or full charge.
Sound cuts in and out when the device moves.
The device has been exposed to water or heavy moisture.
The receiver cable, tube or case is visibly damaged.
Noise occurs together with heat, smell or failure to power on.
Before requesting service
- Battery or charge checked
- Filter inspected visually
- Conditions that trigger the noise recorded
- No liquid applied
- Case and wiring not forced

Is crackling always a receiver fault?
No. Filters, batteries, moisture, microphones and connections can cause similar noise.
Should I put the device in rice?
No. Rice dust can enter device openings and does not replace controlled moisture care.
Can I keep using it?
If the noise is sudden, severe or accompanied by heat or smell, switch the device off and request technical support.
